-“Love yourself, for if you don’t, how can you expect anybody else to love you?”--Unknown

While you are watching the deplorable condition of people nowadays such as poverty, jealousy, hatred and sadness  that are very clear on their face , you notice that they are a mirror of their thoughts and a victim of their  negative thinking. Negative thinking is a sneaky animal that hides in their subconscious mind. Most the root cause of negative thinking comes from the lack of self respect that has been absorbed and stuck in the subconscious mind.

A majority of people unfortunately in the world are not really aware of the importance of self respect and how much it is very valuable for anyone to go on in life, to build self confidence, to success and to live happier. In fact, self respect is the key to inner peace that everyone is searching for the entire life. Lack of self respect is the cause of lack of self confidence, happiness, abundance, prosperity, finance and inner peace.

Let me clarify an important point that most people misunderstand, and unfortunately, they build their life and belief on it. Self respect is to accept who really you are even if you are nothing! It is the real meaning of self respect. Self respect has nothing to do with your talent, your belonging to a respectable family, your education, or being physically attractive at all! You respect yourself not because you are good at writing; dancing or playing a guitar. Self respect has nothing to do with such things. Self respect goes beyond any accomplishment or any success you achieve in your life. You actually respect yourself because you like because of who you are, so you accept yourself as you are, not because what you can do or can’t. Self respect relies on you. It simply you like yourself or you don’t.

Let me give you a good example to absorb this concept very well. You enjoy dancing .You are not good enough, but you love dancing. What are you supposed to do? I know most of you would say, “Okay, you have to practice more." I am going to tell what you are supposed to do. First of all, you have not to be upset by the lack of your talent. You must accept the way you dance. By this acceptance, you are  able to dance without evaluating yourself, or caring of what others think about your dancing.  You have to believe that you can learn to dance better. Your acceptance to your dance is not based on your limitations or the surrender to the belief that you can’t dance well nor any other belief about your dance in the future. And when you aren’t evaluating yourself, you release the need to prove yourself to others, so the compliment is not important to you at all.

Do you think you respect yourself just when you accomplish something and others a compliment and evaluate it positively and if they don’t, you disrespect yourself? If you do so, it means that you make a big mistake and you have to correct this concept.
After that, it seems that you are not familiar with the essence of self respect or may be heard about self respect but you don’t know the importance of it. However, it’s the truth and you have to work on it.

Finally, I would like to remind you that your purpose in life is to feel happy, and enjoy each moment not to prove yourself to others.
